A very simple yet tasty recipe made of yogurt taken with jowar roti or pulka or chapatis. I personally prefer this side dish when I run out of vegetables or I would like to keep my cooking spree very simple and filling.
Ingredients :
- 250 gms thick fresh yogurt
- 1 cup finely chopped onions
- 4 to 5 green chillies, slit and seeds removed, chopped fine
- Few curry leaves
- Handful chopped coriander
- 1 tsp vegetable oil
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1/4 tsp asafoetida
- 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- Salt to taste
Method :
Heat oil in a kadai or pan, add cumin seeds, let it crackle, add the onions and sauté till they turn translucent, then add the chillies and fry well or till chillies turn white ( I fry the chillies till they are crispy and white so they they give a crunchiness).
Next add all the dry ingredients, give a stir and add the yogurt.
Just cook for a minute and remove from the flame, garnish with coriander.
Dahi Sabzi is ready.
